A SCHEME to give top teachers property loans to attract them to deprived areas was approved by Oxford City Council’s executive board on Wednesday.
The scheme will give loans of 15 to 40 per cent of the property with a value up to £75,000.
A “small” level of interest will be charged and repayments will be made if a teacher leaves or the property is sold.
The council will then get a share of any increase in the property’s value.
