AN exhibition from Oxford Pride has lit up the walls of the Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital.
The colourful display of photographs at the hospital in Headington marks the 35th anniversary of the organisation’s adoption of the Rainbow Flag in 1978.
Artist and curator Afroditi Aparti, who helped to co-ordinate the exhibition, called Oxford Pride Queer Arts Fesitval, said: “Arts is a common ground between the gay and heterosexual community and we see this as a way of bringing people together.
“Our aim was to bring colour to the wards and lighten up the days of people who may be in there for difficult reasons.”
The show was commissioned by the Oxfordshire Skills and Learning Service through photographer David Ross, who is a member of Oxford Pride.
Staff nurse Nargiss Dass said: “The photographs are lovely and have certainly helped to brighten up our hospital.”
