WANTAGE: Pupils at King Alfred’s Academy got a visit yesterday from five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, pictured.
The rowing legend is an ambassador for Matalan Sporting Promise as part of the Youth Sports Trust charity, which encourages young people in secondary schools to take part in alternative sports, including parkour and dodgeball.
He watched pupils show off their skills in parkour, tried his hand at dodgeball and presented children with certificates.
