Sir – In response to Eddie Duller’s request for a solution to cycling on pavements (Blind eye to danger, Letters, June 27), can I suggest more space for cyclists on the road.
The fairly recent re-design of Summertown made ample provision for pedestrians and for car parking but nothing for cycling (other than cycle racks).
Of course cyclists should obey the law and be considerate, but so too should all road users. I have been hit to the ground three times by vehicles in Summertown (none of these events my fault).
So the solution is to support safer cycling provision, then there will be no excuse for being on the pavement.
