SCHOOLGIRL Molly Haynes has won a competition run by the new Sainsbury’s store in Cowley, to design an eye-catching image for the supermarket’s ‘bags for life’.
The shop will be opening in the former B&Q unit in Templars Retail Park on Wednesday, July 17 at 9am.
Molly, from Cowley, attends Mabel Prichard Primary School and has Global Developmental Delay, which means she has delayed learning.
The eight-year-old said : “I felt really happy to win.”
And her proud mum, Claire Haynes, added: “We are delighted that a child with special needs is able to achieve this by drawing a great design.”
Emily Ayres, from Church Cowley St James C of E Primary School, and Katherine Holden, from St Christopher’s Primary School, were the two runners-up.
The trio were presented with a framed print of their designs.
