A group of MPs has proposed that the pensions of corrupt or inept police officers should be reduced. What a brilliant idea. Most of us could not have come up with that one in a million years.
This plan could even form the basis of a long-running fictitious TV series – Plods of Docked Green for instance.
If, however, the current practice of such individuals taking early retirement ‘on health grounds’ were to persist, perhaps there might ensue an alternative programme, possibly entitled The Ill – nowadays widely accepted as grammatically correct.
