I would like to invite all 50 of the Cherwell district councillors to answer this question: can they wash and dress themselves in fewer than 15 minutes in the morning?
This is the time a carer is given to wash and dress the frail, disabled, doubly-incontinent, or dementia sufferers – perhaps someone with all of these conditions, and remain unhurried, calm and patient. Add to the fact one is being paid the minimum wage per hour and must hurry on to another job...
I would like our elected councillors to consider this matter very carefully and have the courtesy to answer my question through this newspaper and perhaps raise a debate about this matter at the next council meeting.
