WITH regard to your article (July 5), re Oxfordshire County Council’s revelation that it is cheaper to keep young people in the county and, guess what, apparently they do better here.

Perhaps someone should be asking the question why they closed most of the children’s homes and sent the young people out of county.

The reason then was that it was cheaper, it did not seem to matter about the young people and their success or not back then.

How amazing that now OCC Social Services have been found wanting, there are all these changes.

So, do they care about the young people or do they just react to the blame culture? These are all higher management decisions, the social workers and support workers do an amazing job under very difficult circumstances.
