UP TO 2,000 people rocked out to bands at the annual Yeah Baby festival on Saturday in memory of an Abingdon girl.

Amber Phillpott died of leukaemia aged 18 months in 2011 and her father, James Phillpott, raises money for charities which have supported his family by putting on the festival in Abingdon’s Market Square.

He said: “The festival goes from strength to strength every year and we’ve had a really good turn out.

“There’s been so many high points and the weather has been fantastic.”

Twenty bands played in the Market Square and there was also a raffle, face painting and food stalls.

Money raised from the event will go to Amber Phillpott Trust, Helen & Douglas House and Ronald McDonald House at Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Mr Phillpott estimates this will be around £10,000. He says he will now start planning for next year’s event.
