A SERIAL burglar who stole £20,000 of “irreplaceable” jewellery from an elderly couple has been jailed.

Colin Matley and Michelle Bramham, both of Braithwaite Close, Banbury, admitted carrying out a break-in on March 19 this year.

The couple were sentenced yesterday at Oxford Crown Court for burgling the home of William and Pamela Dyer, both 87, in Westlands Avenue, Weston-on- the-Green, near Bicester.

Both also admitted one count of fraud for trying to sell the stolen jewellery.

Judge Gordon Risius jailed Matley for three-and-a-half years and gave Bramham a two-year jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with 12 months of supervision and 200 hours of unpaid work.
