SCHOOL pupils were thrilled when they got the chance to hold a piece of rock from the moon.
They were enjoying a special science session at Oxford High School with 17 other year five and six pupils from St Nicholas’ Primary School in Old Marston.
The pupils also conducted experiments and learned about the moon and space during a science, technology and maths summer school.
Year six pupil Lucy Honey, 10, said: “It was great fun and I learnt lots. It was an amazing experience.”
Heidi Coppock, teaching assistant at St Nicholas’ Primary School, said: “The UK Space Agency came in to show the moon rock. They were quite in awe of it.”
