WITH Didcot’s population steadily increasing, South Oxfordshire District Council, alongside the county council and developers, is working on a number of infrastructure and facility improvement projects to ensure that the town can meet the needs of residents.
One of these areas is to ensure that the town has sufficient leisure facilities to meet the increased local demand. We believe that we can achieve this aim by bringing a new leisure facility to Didcot.
As is the case with the introduction of any new facility, we anticipate that many of those who currently use Didcot Wave will wish to take advantage of the improved swimming and changing areas at the new facility.
It is also our intention for infrastructure to be in place to make sure that the new facility is accessible from all areas of the town. It is therefore only sensible for us to consider whether or not it would be viable to retain the existing building once the new facility has opened.
As things stand no decision has been made. We will, however, keep the public fully up to date as and when decisions are made.
In the meantime if you have any further questions please e-mail us at getinvolved@didcotleisure.com, or alternatively you can complete the Didcot Leisure Facility survey, which also provides further feedback opportunities, by going to www.didcotleisure.com.
