HEALTHY living was promoted during a day of activities at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The main hospital’s Level 2 corridor was filled with stalls while information and advice was handed out at wards and departments.
Nutritionist and chef Christine Bailey held a healthy cooking demonstration with free samples.
Wednesday’s event was the first time the John Radcliffe Hospital, run by Oxford University Hospitals Trust, had organised the Healthy Hospital day.
Trust health and wellbeing promotion specialist Anna Hinton said: “The day offers staff an opportunity to join in, share ideas and take up the challenge of making those first small steps towards improving their health and supporting patients.”
Medical student William Do, who helped organise the event, said: “We believe that a hospital has a duty to actively promote health and wellbeing for its patients and staff and we hope this event raises awareness of all the positive steps the trust is making to promote a healthier way of life.”
Woodstock resident Giri Rajagopalan, 65,said: “This kind of event is very important because the more people begin to realise healthy food can also be tasty food the better.”
