A man rescued from a blaze in a flat was “fortunate to survive”, according to firefighters.
The man was found, blackened by smoke, in his bedroom by firefighters using thermal imaging cameras.
They forced through the flat door in Russ Avenue, after neighbours raised the alarm at around 6pm on Tuesday.
Crews from Faringdon, Wantage and Abingdon attended.
Police said the man has been released and investigations continue.
