FARINGDON: An illegal waste operator avoided jail, but faces a £9,449 costs bill.
David Ham, of the Old Dairy, Dudgrove Lane, Whelford, Gloucestershire, previously pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrates’ Court to keeping waste at the Faringdon Business Park, Chowle Farm, and running an illegal waste operation from a site in Whelford.
The 36-year-old was sentenced to eight months, suspended for two years, at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
He was previously sentenced to 25 weeks in prison at Oxford Magistrates’ Court in December 2011 for burning waste and running a waste business without an environmental permit.
