Discussions will soon be held to allow Oxford City Council to take over all social housing in the Barton West estate.
Work on the 900-home suburb will get underway late this year once planning permission is given.
Oxford City Council now wants to enter into a legal agreement with its partner Grosvenor to take over the 354 affordable homes and manage them once the project is completed.
The issue will be discussed by the city executive board on Wednesday, July 10, at 5pm.
