YOU have to feel a little bit sorry for Witney MP David Cameron. With the likes of Boris Johnson, Theresa May and Liam Fox all circling for his job, you’d have thought he would at least have the backing of his own party activists.
But no, they also appear to be abandoning him. First it was the Chipping Norton Conservative chairwoman who quit over gay marriage. Then local councillors David Snow and Steve Hayward quit the party and are sitting as independents. Now West Oxfordshire Tory councillor Annie Roy-Barker, has quit.
If Cameron can’t command the support and backing of his own party members, how does he expect to convince the rest of us to support him?
