We are organising a convoy from Mini Plant Oxford to the BMC and Leyland show at the Motor Heritage Centre, Gaydon, on Sunday, July 7.

The convoy is free of charge to join and we are taking the back roads to Gaydon, via Kidlington, Deddington and Banbury.

Mini Plant Oxford have very kindly offered to open their Centenary Exhibition for those on the convoy to look around before we leave.

Although the show is called the BMC and Leyland Show, it also includes Austin Rover Group, Rover Group and Mini.

Any car that has been built at either Cowley or Longbridge is very welcome and given that this year is Cowley’s Centenary, we would love to have a good showing of Minis as Mini is Cowley’s centenary car. Although it is free to come on the convoy, people do need to let us know in advance so that we can manage numbers.

There is a charge to get into the show at Gaydon. However, those who join us on the convoy will get a significant reduction on their ticket.

Do you drive a Mini or any other car built at Cowley or Longbridge?

If you do and would like to join us, please go to www.cowleyconvoy.info or call me on 07929 868284. For more details about the show, please go to www.bmcandleylandshow.co.uk One of the Motor Heritage Centre’s current exhibitions is Morris: the Man, which covers his life and may well be of interest to people in Oxford, particularly those who work or worked at Cowley.
