HUNDREDS of children raised their voices for a special celebration service for pupils at some of the Diocese of Oxford’s church schools.

The service at Christ Church, Oxford, was led by the Right Rev John Pritchard, Bishop of Oxford, yesterday.

A total of 350 Year Six children attended from 14 schools. Robin Sharples, schools adviser, who organised the service, said: “All of the team worked really hard and it was lovely to see the children getting into the activities.

“I was particularly impressed by the singing, and the prayers were smashing.”

The theme of the service was love.

The children spent the morning carrying out reflective activities, including creating crosses which they then brought into the service.

Bishop John said: “It was a delightful opportunity to celebrate the years that hundreds of children have been in our church schools and to wish them God speed as they move on to their secondaries.”
