IT MAY be a while before potato racing makes it to the Olympics, but that didn’t stop Kidlington residents enjoying it on Saturday.
St Mary’s church held its summer festival featuring stalls, games, story-telling and a children's entertainer.
One of the events was a potato race, organised by villager Andrea Bullock, who also served up some traditional Jamaican food.
She said: “It was fun and we raised about £125 for the church.
“People had a good time and this year the food went well. When I ran out they were asking for more.”
A potato race is a running contest where the winner is the first to collect various objects, including potatoes, and then cross the finish line
