IT WAS a dog’s life for the Cubs and Beavers of one Bicester group, who scooped best town carnival float for their canine costumes.
For this year’s Silver Screen theme, 1st Bicester Intrepid Scout Group’s float was decked out as 101 Dalmatians, complete with Cruella Deville.
The group spent days sewing more than 75 pictures of Dalmatian dogs and cuddly toys to the float, ready for the Bicester Carnival on Saturday.
Group Scout leader Jill Edwards said: “About 25 Beavers and Cubs also dressed up as Dalmatians.
“They enjoyed it and I enjoyed taking part. It was all good fun and is part of being in the town.”
She added: “I thought the carnival was very good.”
For the first time, there was a dog show as part of the carnival, which was held earlier than usual, to coincide with Armed Forces Day.
And Bicester Home Guard Living History Group, which was only recently set up, made its debut at the carnival, in Pingle Field.
