MORE THAN 800 people thundered through Thame to contest the prizes at this year’s 10k run.
Spaces in the charity race filled up in record time this year, with 1,000 people signed up by the end of May.
At 9.30am on Sunday, most of those runners set out from Thame Leisure Centre to follow the Phoenix Trail.
Organiser Claire Novak said: “It went very well. The day started a little bit cool, but warmed up very quickly, so, once again, it was a lovely hot day for the run.
“We had so many people wanting to enter, we struggled to get them all in.”
In all, 813 people crossed the finish line. Entrants paid to run the race and money raised, which is still being counted, will be donated to local charities, to be decided later in the year.
