CHILDREN will be able to enjoy a new play space at the Ark T Centre in Cowley from Friday.
The centre in Crowell Road, which provides a creative space for young people, has received a £47,000 grant from BBC Children in Need and Oxfordshire County Council to build a new garden area.
The space includes a treehouse, sand pit and a water pump and will be open from 9am to 6pm everyday.
Director of the centre James Grote said: “The new play area is open to everyone.
“Being located next to the shopping centre means we get a lot of families, so it is a safe, exciting and natural place for people to enjoy.
“It’s to help children to learn to experiment – we have real fruit trees and ropes and tubes that can be played with.”
Andrew Smith MP will cut the official ribbon on Friday and the launch party will take place between 4-8pm.
Music, dancing, a children’s entertainer, an archaeological dig and a barbecue will be on offer.
