PUPILS at Church Cowley St James Primary School became artists for a week for The National Gallery’s ‘Take One Picture’ scheme.
More than 400 pieces of art – from paper plate top hats to playground street art – were on display in the school hall on Friday.
The project asked schools across the country to create a variety of artwork based upon French artist George Seurat’s 1884 painting, Bathers At Asnieres.
Church Cowley St James’ key stage two leader Tim Mean said: “It’s been absolutely fantastic for the children to experience art in lots of different ways.”
Pupil Sam Janko, 10, said: “The French painting we had to base our work on is very clever.”
The pupils started creating their pieces of art on June 3
