COUNTY council workers in Whitehouse Road, Oxford, can’t blame their bosses for the potholes pictured right as maintenance falls to Oxford City Council.
While the county council is responsible for the vast majority of Oxfordshire roads, the city council is responsible for “minor roads”.
Whitehouse Road, off Abingdon Road, is home to the county council’s Grandpont Nursery School & Children’s Centre – and a staff car park.
City council spokesman Louisa Dean said: “White House Road was surface dressed – tar and chippings – last summer. The damage caused is not classified as a pothole but we will be asking the contractor to come back and fix it.”
