Dubbed the ‘queen of the minor key’, Eilen Jewell is one of the brightest stars in the firmament of new country artists. The Idaho singer-songwriter has hammered out her own unique style of Americana that fuses country, rock ‘n’ roll, blues and rockabilly. She has recorded a homage to Loretta Lynn and explored the rich world of country gospel with The Sacred Shakers. Her newer material sees her mining the seam of ‘60s UK garage rock and Chicago blues as well as classic country.

At the same time feisty and demure, The Shee are a dynamic all-female group playing Scottish folk with a touch of bluegrass. The sextet play The Theatre, Chipping Norton on an Easter tour to promote their third album Murmurations. Their Highland airs, Gaelic ballads, high-energy tunes and original songs veer from stripped back to complex and may well get you dancing.

With his distinctive Jamaican patois, and encyclopaedic knowledge of vintage dancehall, soul and lovers rock, DJ Derek is the authentic voice of British reggae. He also happens to be a bespectacled 70-something from St Paul’s — which is not a Caribbean island, but a lively district of Bristol.

SJE pulls off a coup with a show by one of the leading lights of British progressive rock.

Australian blues gal Fiona Boyes has a reputation for her intricate finger picking, and has been described as the best female guitarist of her time. Her music encompasses Delta slide, wailing laments, single chord grooves, memphis soul, Chicago blues, Texas swing, and the finest finger picking you are likely to hear.
