FOUR children slept like logs...as a car ploughed into the front of their house.
The youngsters – aged 16, 14, nine and seven – only woke up when firemen went in to evacuate them.
Last night the family was staying at the Premier Inn at the Milton Interchange, where they will remain until at least tomorrow while the house in Mallard Way, Grove, is checked for safety.
The Volkswagen Polo crashed into the house at 11.30pm on Friday. The 46-year-old dad, who asked not to be named, said: “Luckily no one was in the front room at the time. Amazingly, all four kids slept through it all. It was only when the firemen evacuated us that they actually woke up.”
Neighbour Mike Brown said: “The car had pushed the front window and wall in. If anyone had been on the sofa in the front room, they would have been sent flying across the room.”
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said ambulance and firefighters were called to the scene, but treated only minor injuries.
The spokesman said the driver of a Ford Focus understood to have been driving near the Polo at the time was reported for careless driving.
