ISN’T it ironic that those whose homes and livelihoods (farms and the like) are to be taken from them by compulsory purchase because they stand on the proposed route of the HS2 railway are not awarded the same protection under the EU human rights bill as undesirables such as Abu Qatada, a man who advocates harm to us infidels and still enjoys the freedom and luxury of living in Britain, and is protected by the human rights bill?
Talk about double standards. When will our Government have the guts to send him to Jordan where he is wanted on terrorism charges?
He and his ilk cost the tax payer millions of pounds.
Theresa May, the Home Secretary, has shown more courage than David Cameron and, if she had had her way, Qatada would have been long gone from here.
Maybe we will see a new Tory leader come the next election.
