KEEPERS hope two new additions to Cotswold Wildlife Park will one day breed and have children.
The six-banded armadillos, Linda, two, and Lucas, one, have recently gone on display at the Burford zoo.
The creatures are native to South America and normally live solitary lifestyles.
Keeper Hayley Rothwell said: “Hopefully one day they will breed. They are not frequent breeders in captivity and I know places do struggle to breed them, but fingers crossed.”
The armadillos came from a Swiss zoo a year ago but have only recently been put on display due to a lack of space.
A tortoise enclosure near the reptile house has been converted to create their new home.
Keeper Emily Boyes said: “They’re great. They’re real characters and they’re always up to something.”
