A DEATH at an Oxford pub is not being treated as suspicious, according to police.
A man was found dead in a locked toilet cubicle at Walton Street music venue the Jericho Tavern at about 9pm on Saturday.
A police spokeswoman said the man, believed to be a 41-year-old from Abingdon, was discovered by a member of the public.
South Central Ambulance spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said: “We got a call at 8.56pm to go to the Jericho Tavern after a person passed out.
“We were unable to gain access to the casualty so we asked Thames Valley Police for help.
“Once we gained access, the casualty was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Mr Keating-Wilkes added it was not known how he died.
Police inspector Chris Evans said: “We received a call at 9.09pm about a male who had collapsed in the toilets. Circumstances are not being treated as suspicious at this time and a report is being submitted to the coroner.”
The Jericho Tavern declined to comment.
