GOSPEL singers in Wantage Market Square performed to hundreds of people on Good Friday.

More than 200 worshippers braved the cold to listen to the Croydon Seventh Day Adventist Gospel Choir in celebration of Easter.

The group travelled from south London to take part in the Easter performance organised by 10 churches from Wantage and Grove.

Wantage resident and member of Wantage Community Church, Howard Hill, said: “It was very loud and joyful, and great fun.

“There were so many people in the gospel choir.

“The singing was very powerful, it was wonderful.

“It was a big concert performed from a lorry without one side. It was cold, but there were lots of people there.”
