Oxfordshire residents suffering from the cold are being given funding to help them install, fix or replace heating equipment.
Foundations, the national body for home improvement agencies, has linked up with RWE npower’s Health Through Warmth programme to help people whose health is made worse by cold weather, and inadequate heating and insulation.
To qualify for help householders must have a cold-related illness, a low household income with little or no savings and be unable to pay for the work themselves.
Elaine Midwinter, scheme manager, said: “Since Health Through Warmth was set up 12 years ago, we have helped thousands of people in England and Wales.”
