OLIVER Taylor produced a virtuoso display with all five goals as Vale of White Under 13 swept aside Swindon 5-2 in their Meeson Trophy opener at Milton United.

Taylor opened the scoring after four minutes, sliding the ball home after good work by Ben Whitehead.

Three minutes later, he used his pace and strength to race clear for No 2.

Swindon rallied and with Vale slow to tackle, goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell made a series of good saves before he was finally beaten by a free header.

Within a minute of the second half, a defensive error allowed Swindon to equalise.

New keeper Matt Thomas also made a number of good saves, before Taylor completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes left.

Shortly afterwards he raced away to add his fourth.

But the best was still to come as he completed his five-star display with a rising shot into the far corner to give the scoreline a rather flattering appearance.

Vale of White Horse Under 11s stay top of the County League following a goalless draw against Portsmouth at Moneyfields FC.

Iain Pinder was thwarted by a brilliant save by the Portsmouth keeper in a one-on-one situation in the first half, and Vale were also denied what appeared to be a penalty for blatant handball.

James Clarke hit a post before the interval, and Pinder did likewise in the second half as the scoreline remained blank.
