Sir – Last summer, a big grey plane flew over our house on its way to RAF Brize Norton. It came so low that my bathroom big mirror shattered and fell to the floor.

I wrote to RAF Brize Norton four times over two months; they never even acknowledged my emails, let alone discuss their liability.

Are they not a great, responsive institution? Why should Britain tremble? Lacking certain manners and civility?
