WE READ of the Government cutbacks in our armed forces resulting in many thousands of forces personnel having lost their jobs.
I would like to ask the Ministry of Defence what its intentions are for all the empty MoD houses.
In the small road where I live there are at least three houses that have been empty for over a year.
Not only have they been empty all this time but the central heating system has been left running, which I assume is to combat any cold spell we may have.
Not sure who will foot the bill for these heating costs but I daresay it will be coming out of our pockets in some way or another.
I read of housing shortages everywhere.
These houses have benefited from new double glazing throughout and new carpets fitted, only to remain empty for all this time.
How nice it would be if some families could benefit from these lovely warm three-bed detached houses instead of them standing empty for so long at the taxpayers’ expense.
