AT Holy Trinity, Headington Quarry, the parochial council appears to have dropped its initial ambitious plan for the full length extension of the church, (February 5), after public complaints.
This is an acceptable, sensible, Christian decision for the many campaigners against the dedicated minority trying to force through their ideal, especially when the desecration of graves in the consecrated churchyard is involved.
The Oxford Diocese has been conspicuous by its silence – perhaps now is the time to let concerned people know its views and what the policy is, with reference to destroying graves in churchyards where ‘rest in peace’ should reign eternally.
The PCC at Holy Trinity said it will look at other ideas such as a smaller extension. I and many others sincerely hope it does not include disturbing any graves.
