Wintry weather delays skatepark's opening

THE opening of East Oxford’s long-awaited skatepark has been delayed because of last month’s freezing weather.
It was hoped that Meadow Lane skate park would be open in time for half-term next week, but workers are still finishing its construction.
Mon Barbour, from the Oxford Wheels Project, said: “Because of all the flooding and snow, the completion date has been put back.
“It is not going to be open for this half-term, which is a real shame. But it will open in the next couple of weeks.” Construction started in September.
