TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who has died after an incident involving two cars in Charlbury.
The victim has been named locally as Luke Nappin, 34, of The Green.
He was taken to The Horton Hospital in Banbury after being struck at about 9.30pm on Saturday but later died there from his injuries.
The incident happened in The Slade, at the junction with Ticknell Piece Road.
Police say the vehicles involved were a Saab and Perodua Kelsia. Both cars stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Several bouquets, left, have now been left at the spot where Mr Nappin had been walking.
His childhood friend Andrew Marlow, 34, of Ticknell Piece Road, told the Oxford Mail the death would rock the small community. He said: “I grew up with him. I knew his sisters, and his family, I cannot believe it is him. He was a genuine, salt of the earth guy. I feel devastated and so sad for his family.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101.
