Sir – Last month, the Weirs Lane and Abingdon Road junction (Report, November 29) became a lake even more famous than the dilapidated Fox & Hounds pub on the same corner.
With all this extreme weather can there be anyone who doubts that climate change is happening? Who cannot believe that human beings are making that global warming worse? The steps taken by the Environment Agency to open up the Redbridge channel and protect most homes from flooding in Oxford should be applauded.
But we need a commitment now to digging the £100m bypass channel to the west of the railway line. Otherwise our city of dreaming spires will become a city of threatening floods.
