COMEDY star Rob Brydon is to compere one of the annual Childish Things fundraising shows for Helen and Douglas House.

Now in its ninth year, the nights of comedy and music held at Oxford’s New Theatre have raised more than £400,000 for the Oxford hospice.

In February there will again be three Childish Things shows, featuring different line-ups.

Brydon, who appeared in the hit BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey, will compere the music night on February 4, which includes KT Tunstall, local band Stornaway, the acclaimed jazz and cabaret artist Barb Jungr and singer-songwriter Ally Craig, who is from Grove and goes to Douglas House.

The shows on February 5 and 6 will be traditional comedy nights, with some music acts. The line-up so far includes comedians Hal Cruttenden and Steve Shanyaski and local magicians Morgan and West, along with Oxford acapella act Out of the Blue for both nights.

Other big names will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets start at £25 and are available at the New Theatre box office or online at www.atgtickets.com.
