I URGE all residents to contact their Members of Parliament and ask them to support the Equal Marriage Bill.
I also plead with all Oxfordshire MPs to vote for it: if they do not, they will be showing to the country that they believe some of their constituents are secondary citizens.
For the sake of humanity, everyone must be equal under the law. Why should some people be allowed to marry and others not?
The Church has no right to criticise on this issue as they will not be forced to conduct marriages if they do not wish to do so and the idea of marriage pre-dates that of religion.
If we are to be a forward-thinking and truly equal nation, this must be approved. I urge everyone to contact their MPs and support the Equal Marriage Bill.
