Pupils belt out Christmas carols
6:10pm Thursday 13th December 2012 in News
WITH big smiles on their faces, pupils from Oxford’s St Barnabas Primary School belted out carols in the city centre.
About 30 youngsters from the school’s choir helped raise more than £200 for the Oxford Poverty Action Trust (OxPAT) this week.
The sound of popular carols filled the Clarendon Shopping Centre during a 45-minute concert on Monday.
Joe McKibbin, seven, from Jericho, said he hadn’t been nervous at all.
He said: “I went right to the front when we sang Jingle Bells and Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer and a song from our nativity.
“It was quite busy and there were lots of people who came.”
Leading the choir was teacher Emma Partington, who said: “It was great fun. The singing was quite hard work because the nearby building site was creating a lot of noise, but the children rose to the challenge.”
