A PROVISIONAL date has been set for the trial of a woman accused of stabbing her mother to death in Oxford.
Vittoria Baker, 52, was found dead at her second-floor flat in Friars Wharf on August 16.
Her 29-year-old daughter Kauthar Silvera was charged with her murder two days later.
Silvera appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday in a bid to change her barrister.
Judge Patrick Eccles allowed Silvera to switch her defence lawyers from Angela Porter Solicitors to the firm that has represented her family in the past – Edward Fail Bradshaw and Waterson.
The case will be mentioned in court again on Friday, January 25, and the date for the trial was provisionally set for Monday, February 11.
Police were called to Ms Baker’s home at about 7.45am on Thursday, August 16, by someone who was concerned about her safety.
A post mortem examination later found the mother died of a stab wound.
