A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a car accident on the M40.

The crash involved two minibuses and one car and took place on the road’s southbound carriageway between junctions six at Lewknor and seven at Milton Common.

At around 9am this morning the car was involved in a collision with the minibuses, which caused it to leave the road and end upon its side in a nearby field.

Firefighters attended the accident and found the female occupant of the car was the only person injured and she had escaped her vehicle before they arrived.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The road was not closed but delays have been reported.
