STAFF at an animal rescue centre need help to make life nice for a mischief of mice.
More than 150 mice were found starving in an abandoned pet shop in Belfast, and have arrived in Oxfordshire to be rehomed.
Now they’re at the Blue Cross rehoming centre near Burford, and about 100 still need to be found homes.
Katie Stiles, animal welfare assistant at the centre, said: “The first thing we had to do was to ‘sex’ all the mice, so we could separate the males from females to make sure we didn’t end up with even more.
“It was quite a challenge. Now we have them all in manageable single sex groups and we are appealing to all the mice lovers out there to help us find them new homes.
“People who look after mice often say how rewarding it is – they make lovely pets. They are friendly and social and love to play.”
Anyone interested in adopting one of the mice should call 0300 777 1570 or visit bluecross.org.uk
