Floods 2012: A thank-you list to all those workers who battled the flooding in Oxfordshire

FLOODING across Oxfordshire last week saw hundreds of Environment Agency, council and emergency services staff working tirelessly to minimise the damage and keep people safe. We have given those organisations the opportunity to name their staff as a public recognition of their fine work for the community.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
 

Oxfordshire Traffic Control Centre

Social and Community Services and Children, Education and Families
 

The council also wants to say thank you to staff at the following care homes that took residents from The Old Prebendal at short notice when it was in danger of flooding.

Below is a list of all the depot staff who helped out by working long and late shifts filling sandbags. They issued over 6,000 and kept supplies of sand topped up in five sandbag centres throughout the district
