NICHOLAS Lawrence (November 22) may be right in the fact that Oxford has “remarkably efficient bus services”.

I don’t doubt that is true about most services, especially Blackbird Leys. However, the No.10 bus service leaves a lot to be desired. This service caters for Horspath Road, Cowley, Wood Farm, the Nuffield and John Radcliffe hospitals, and it is seldom on time, especially in the early morning. Passengers are not able to trust getting to appointments on time.

This is the only service for this area (and for Blackbird Leys) to the John Radcliffe. On one morning at Templar Square bus stop I, and several people, counted 10 buses going to Blackbird Leys.

So, if they can get through, why can’t the No.10 ? We ask regularly for an explanation and the answer is always “ring customer services”. Whoever is responsible for answering the phone takes so long, we could have walked to town.

One thing we do have up here in Cowley Templar Square is a block of beautiful toilets, looked after by a very pleasant lady, so it’s not all bad!
