WITH the recent release of Abu Qatada, the general public must now be aware of the sheer incompetence of our political leaders.

Qatada – a man who, if possible, would gladly destroy the whole of the western world and all of those in it – now has his freedom. In the meantime, Sgt Danny Nightingale, an honorable man with 20 years’ service in the SAS, is incacerated for 18 months for being in possession of a Glock pistol presented to him by his comrades for his outstanding service.

In addition we hear that five members of the Army in Afghanistan are being charged with murder for allegedly killing a Taliban fighter while in their custody. War brutalises men, even when conventional, but we are not fighting a conventional war in Afghanistan. The enemy are terrorists fighting in civilian clothing.

It’s alright for our leaders sitting in their comfy offices, condemning them.

If they were to experience conditions on the frontline they would certainly change their position.

But, of course, there is no chance of that.
