WHILE the 43rd Oxford (St Nicholas) Scout Group is to be congratulated in celebrating its Diamond Jubilee of Scouting in Old Marston, and beyond, your report (November 23) gives emphasis to the Scout troop which was the basis on how the group started.
It does not mention that as a group the 43rd also has an active Beaver Scout Colony for boys and girls aged six to eight years with four leaders, and a Cub Scout Pack for eight to 10-year-olds with three leaders.
The 43rd Group is fortunate, as are other groups in the Oxford Spires Scout District, to be able to offer Scouting to increasing numbers over all three sections.
