FIREFIGHTERS, paramedics and police are standing down at Folly Bridge in Oxford after the report of a man falling into the Thames appeared to be a fale alarm.
Police spokesman Rhianne Pope said emergency services went to the river after a call a man had fallen into the Thames and was calling for help.
However when officers arrived on scene they could not locate the man, and now fire teams are helping with the search.
Emergency services staff at the scene have just said they do not believe the report was true and are now preparing to pack up and leave.
The stretch of Thames near Abingdon Road has been on flood warning for the past few days due to heavy rainfall.
